David Thompson
David Thompson provides leadership and technical expertise for all of Avenue’s transportation projects. As a transportation engineer, he is best known for his work in the fields of complex traffic operations, transportation modeling, large scale transportation planning, micro-simulation, alternatives analysis and innovative intersection design (including the CFIs and other innovative treatments).
David is also well-known as a strong advocate of collaborative efforts as a means of bringing comprehensive and successful results to his projects. David actively seeks teaming relationships with other consultants as both a lead consultant and as a sub-contractor. As a team player with excellent public policy relationships and strong graphical communication abilities, David’s skills are a strong compliment to the skills of larger engineering and planning teams.
David is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Utah.

Urban Planning & Development
Melvin Bodily
Melvin Bodily is an urban planning and land development engineer with a broad range of experience including commercial, retail, mixed-use, mining, single-family residential, high-density residential, condominiums, true multi-family projects and complex master plans. He is an expert in dealing with the planning and engineering issues associated with high-intensity land uses.
Mel has been involved in projects as large as 3,200 acres and as small as 4 acres; directly performing or supervising the work of feasibility analysis, planning, zoning, entitlements, engineering design, utilities, arterial/collector roadway improvements, construction document preparation, final plats, surveys and even construction staking. He has been effective as both a prime consultant and a sub-consultant, helping to organize and coordinate the efforts of third-party consultants, and to direct sub-contractors in achieving critical project outcomes.
Mel is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho.
