Contracts Administrator

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Avenue Consultants’ Alternative Delivery group is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join their expanding team!  The Contracts Administrator will review and administer contractual proposals for construction-related projects. This is a great time to join our growing team! Some of the specific opportunities would include:

 

  • Assist owners in preparing procurement documents and supporting contact documents for heavy highway, alternative delivery projects, including Design-Build, CM/GC, Progressive DB, and CMAR projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications for contracts
  • Review and understand obligations of all parties
  • Assist clients in the evaluation of proposals submitted in response to RFQs and RFPs
  • Review and validate cost estimates
  • Work with owners / builders / and designers to administer alternative delivery contracts
  • Ensure deadlines and contract conditions are met
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Analyze potential areas of risk
  • Oversee document control and project controls processes in an Owner’s Representative role
  • Help develop manuals, white papers, and guidance documents on alternative delivery methods.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a self-starter with an understanding of contract law. The ideal candidate is someone with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, who enjoys working in a team environment.

To be successful, this person should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, a degree in law, construction, business administration, engineering or related field is highly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in contracts administration
  • Ability to analyze and interpret legal documents, technical and financial reports.
  • Experience working in the legal field is helpful though not required
  • An understanding of contract law
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Good writing skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
