ABOUT THE ROLE:Avenue Consultants is seeking a highly motivated individual with an eye for detail as a Utilities Coordinator. The Utilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the protection, adjustment, and relocation of utilities, as well as the development, processing, and filing of contracts and agreements for highway or local construction projects. Some of the other responsibilities would include:
- Serving as a resource to designers, project managers and consultants to identify and resolve potential design and construction utility-related issues in an efficient and timely way.
- Coordinating with utility companies and 3rd parties for transportation projects from the scoping phase through design.
- Preparing, reviewing, executing, and filing of utility or 3rd party cooperative and betterment agreements, and providing contract administration expertise.
- Coordinating between internal project teams, utility companies and 3rd parties.
- Reviewing construction proposals/contracts and plans to determine project requirements.
- Working with the utility designer to notify affected utility companies and 3rd parties of impacts to their facilities or rights-of-way by construction projects.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:We are looking for a someone with skills that include communication, and eye for detail and a self-starter. To be successful in this role, this person should have the following:
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization of critical activities.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiply tasks.
- Conflict negotiation and resolution skills.
- Experience with writing or administering contracts and / or agreements.
- Experience with highway construction projects.
- Experience working with construction and utility conflicts.
- Excellent computer skills including excel.
Preference may be given to those who have more related working experience in the criteria listed above.
